Melamine Sponge Dobra Gospodarochka for Cleaning 2 pcs
The melamine sponge (magic eraser, heavy-duty cleaning sponge) helps remove stains, marks, and scuffs from various hard surfaces using plain water, without additional detergents.
The Dobra Gospodarochka melamine sponge is designed for spot-cleaning stubborn household dirt at home and in the office. Thanks to the special structure of its material, it helps eliminate marks that regular sponges and wipes cannot always handle.
The melamine sponge is also known as a magic sponge, miracle sponge, or eraser sponge due to its ability to mechanically rub off dirt from surfaces.
What is a melamine sponge and how does it work?
Melamine is an organic chemical compound used to produce polymeric materials. The melamine sponge is made from foamed melamine resin, which has a distinct microporous structure.
While soft to the touch, its thin fibers are quite hard on a microscopic level. During friction, they act like a fine abrasive, helping to separate dirt from the surface.
That is why a melamine sponge can clean many household stains without extra chemicals — simply moisten it with water.
What types of dirt does a melamine sponge help remove?
 Marks from pencils, ballpoint pens, and certain markers on compatible hard surfaces.
 Dark scuffs and shoe marks.
 Stubborn dark stains on light-colored rubber soles of sneakers and trainers.
 Persistent household dirt on hard plastic surfaces resistant to abrasive cleaning.
 Select stains on compatible ceramic surfaces.
 Certain types of soap scum and grime in the bathroom.
Cleaning performance depends on the type of dirt, surface material, and rubbing force applied.
Advantages of the melamine sponge
 Water-only cleaning. No need for extra household chemicals for most dirt.
 Eraser effect. Mechanically rubs away stubborn marks and scuffs.
 Microporous structure. Helps clean dirt trapped in minor surface irregularities.
 Convenient shape. The rectangular sponge is comfortable to hold and can be cut into smaller pieces for spot cleaning if needed.
 Versatile usage scenarios. Suitable for spot-cleaning compatible hard surfaces in the kitchen, bathroom, and other areas around the home.
Why does a melamine sponge wear down and crumble?
A melamine sponge works just like a regular pencil eraser. During cleaning, its microporous structure gradually breaks down, causing the sponge to shrink and shed small particles.
This is a normal characteristic of melamine sponges and not a product defect.
To use the sponge more economically, cut off a small piece for cleaning specific areas. Avoid applying excessive force or twisting the material.
How to use a melamine sponge correctly:
1. Wet the sponge with clean cool or warm water.
2. Gently squeeze out excess water without wringing or twisting the sponge.
3. Test the sponge on a small, inconspicuous area of the surface first.
4. Lightly rub the stain without pressing too hard.
5. After cleaning, wipe away any sponge residue and loosened dirt with a clean, damp cloth.
6. Rinse the sponge under running water and let it air dry.
Is the melamine sponge safe?
The melamine sponge is intended for cleaning household surfaces only and should not come into contact with skin or food products.
Do not use the sponge on your hands, face, or body. Due to its abrasive structure, it can cause skin irritation or damage during friction. Wearing household gloves during cleaning is recommended, especially for sensitive skin.
Do not clean fruits, vegetables, food items, dishes, or cookware that come into contact with food using a melamine sponge. As the sponge wears down during use, microparticles may remain on cleaned surfaces and get into food. Prevent sponge particles from entering the mouth. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Which surfaces should NOT be cleaned with a melamine sponge?
Because of its abrasive properties, a melamine sponge can damage certain finishes. Do not use it on glossy, lacquered, polished, non-stick, or delicate surfaces, acrylic glass, screens, automotive paint, or any other materials sensitive to mechanical friction.
Always test the sponge on an inconspicuous area before full application.
